My Lord !

Chola Kingdom,
One of the three erstwhile Tamil dynasties :
Chera, Chola and Pandiya.
Fertile lands due to flow of  perennial Cauvery
river and regular rains.
Happy people and happy King of the Kingdom,
Manu Needhi Chola,
known for his Exemplary Justice.

He had erected a large bell in front of his palace.
Whoever in his kingdom suffered and required
immediate justice can pull the rope of the bell.
Proper Justice in his court delivered without delay .

One day, his young son, the Prince was happily
driving the horse pulled chariot on the road.
At the same time, a cow was returning home
with her young calf after grazing.
The cow and the calf were crossing the same road
on which the prince was driving his chariot.
The cow crossed the road but the calf came
under the wheels of chariot.
Hit by the chariot of the prince the calf died.
Understanding the death of her calf,
the cow shed tears for long.
Then it went to the King's Court pulled the rope
of the Bell of Justice.

Hearing the sound of the bell,
the king came out of his palace.
From the people, he learnt that the prince,
his son was responsible for the death of the calf of the cow.

Justice delivered immediately:
"Like the suffering of the cow without its calf,
I will suffer without my son."
The king took the same chariot,
made his son to lie down on the road,
drove the chariot on his son and killed him,
shedding tears.
No, It is not the grandma's story.
But the statue in front of
Madras High Court at Chennai
will speak about the Exemplary Justice.
We have faith in and respect of
Indian Judiciary.
But is it not
Justice delayed is Justice denied ?
Due to the lacunae in the effectiveness of
the Legislature and the Executive,
it needs to be addressed without any more delay.
The Nation is ultimately eager and expects more from you,
My Lord !
