the First Day of Tamil month Thai (தை )

Auspicious Day of Auspicious Month,

People Start performing marriages during this month,

which were not performed during the last month of Margazhi ,

considered inauspicious for marriages.

That is why people say,

'With the start of Thai, a better way in Life starts'

தை பிறந்தால் வழி பிறக்கும் .

Pongal irrespective of any religion, it is

- Tamil festival

- festival of Agriculture community, 

Jai Kisaan.

With new grains reaching home, thanksgiving

to the God, cattle, friends and relatives.

Let us Celebrate Pongal happily.
