six commandments

Cool, oh my heart! Cool!
The commandments of God are six.
Humans to understand and live together,
The commandments of God are six.

Sure peace in their heart,
For those with words and action are same.
Pain in pleasure and pleasure in pain
It is God’s will in the life game.
Better than words, action is golden;
Pleasure in the middle of pain is silken.
For those with these two commandments,
All happiness blooms in their heart.

When good deeds are with truth,
The world’s love for you is in growth.
Even in high status if your politeness remains,
Respect from others flows.
Love is the truth.
 Politeness is a character.
For those following these four commandments,
Happiness showers like rain without demand.
Cool, oh my heart! Cool!

One with lust, anger and greed,
He is a beast with speech.
One with love, gratitude and mercy,
He is a divinely human.
Of these,
Beast is one with venomous heart;
And one with the heart of a child is divine.
Pure heart following all these six commandments
Is the temple where God dwells!
Cool, oh my heart! Cool!

Daffodils

I wander'd lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the Milky Way,
They stretch'd in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed -- and gazed -- but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
By William Wordsworth (1770-1850).

The principle daffodil garden taught is one of the greatest principle of celebration: learning to move toward our goals and desires one step at a time -- often just one baby-step at a time -- learning to love the doing, learning to use the accumulation of time.

When we multiply tiny pieces of time with small increments of daily effort, we too will find we can accomplish magnificent things. We can change the world

Use of the Daffodil Principle.
Stop waiting…
Until your car or home loan is paid off
Until you get a new car or home
Until your kids leave the house
Until you go back to school
Until you finish school
Until you clean the house
Until you organize the garage
Until you clean off your desk
Until you lose 10 lbs.
Until you gain 10 lbs.
Until you get married
Until you get a divorce
Until you have kids
Until the kids go to school
Until you retire
Until summer
Until spring
Until winter
Until fall
Until you die…
There is no better time than right now to be happy.
Happiness is a journey, not a destination.

janani - II

janani
4

Sunday. 10 am.
Mohan came to our home with his parents.
We were in the Sunday mood and were relaxing.
My parents, janani and her mother were discussing
something with me.
Sudden arrival of the guests and we got up and invited them.

Mohan, we already know him as janani’s friend and class mate.
He visited our home many times in connection with their
studies and matters relating to their job.
Mohan was a top executive in a reputed firm.
Mohan’s father was a secretary in Tamilnadu govt.
Good people from good family.

Lakshmiamma served tea and snacks.
Mohan’s father clarified the purpose of their visit is
to ask janani as alliance for Mohan.
Immediately it struck to all that they are good match
Suitable for each other. But ….,

We saw Lakshmiamma’s face. She approved
by nodding her head. My father told,
“We approve this alliance but we have to consult
our other people, give us some time and we will inform you shortly.”
They happily agreed and went away.

The happiness on janani’s face revealed that they liked
each other and were in love. But she showed some
reluctance by telling,
“What is the hurry for my marriage ?
First let my sister-in-law come to the house.”
She was referring to my marriage! A fun?!

I told her,
“please don’t worry about your sister-in-law coming to the
house, it appears that Mohan will not wait so long.”
Important point was the details of Lakshmiamma
and that of janani’s father, about which
none of us worried so far. But we have to tell the truth
to the bridegroom’s family. Lakshmiamma also agreed.
She dialed some telephone no. and the dialogue
was very emotional.

Next day evening when I returned home from the
office, lengthy fleet of 5, 6 vehicles were standing
in front of my house. Inside the house, gathering of
About 30 people in all age groups.
My father showed me the central figure and informed
that he is janani’s father, Srinivasan.

Yes, I know this man. Wealthy landlord with political
background and support from all parties in Tamil nadu.
He hails from Thanjavur. Lakshmiamma was also
sitting there with Royal look and in fine Kancheepuram silk
and precious jewellery. Janani standing there like
a fearing deer just hiding behind my parents.

Mohan’s parents were also invited for this special
occasion purposefully. They understood the reality
that Janani’s mother due to political rivalry and fear
of their beloved daughter’s life had to fled away
from their native and take safe refuge in our house.
Everything was Ok

But Royal Lakshmiamma serving in our house.
We felt very sad and sorry about this.
But she smilingly thanked us profusely and told
‘even in our care janani would not have achieved such
height in her life. Please don’t carry any conviction,
and janani is your child.’ Janani’s father has also
approved this happily. A good and god-fearing man
loved and respected by all his people.

The emotional scene created a special feeling
in Mohan’s parents and there was nothing except
to say yes to the wedding of Mohan and Janani shortly.
